Arman Puts Final ADR Touch To Kung Fu Man

Arman Darbo Arman ADR Studio for website newsjoined co-star Tiger Chen and producer Zhang Daxing for a voice-recording session that wrapped up the Automated Dialogue Replacement (ADR) work on Kung Fu Man in Beijing on Sunday 24th April.

In other rooms around, actors were dubbing all kinds of movies, letting Arman feel this extraordinarily emulating atmosphere full of sounds of galloping horses, crying lovers and swords fights! ADR is widely used in Chinese productions and China has a long tradition of dubbing foreign films into Mandarin which started in the 1930s.

There were a total of 4 ADR sessions for Arman to complete his sound/dialogue work on Kung Fu Man.

This last recording day was also the occasion for Arman to see for the first time the exciting rough cut of Kung Fu Man and spell out his opening lines of the film: “people always ask me about Ping…” In between takes, lead actor Tiger Chen checked out the progress of Arman’s kungfu skills and was impressed by his young friend’s kicks and punches.

The movie will have both a Chinese and an English language versions for distribution in different territories. Kung Fu Man is slated for release all across China in August 2011.
